Low power, low resolution image sensor ASIC
The ASIC is a smart self-contained multi sensor chip enabling key functionalities for integrated IoT applications where guaranteed low-resolution images are required e.g., for privacy reasons.
It provides a monochrome CMOS image taking for low power sensor systems where low standby current is essential for the application.
The chip can be programmed and integrated into a sensor network in master/slave mode.
The image processing can be done on chip, or raw data can be extracted for processing elsewhere. The image sensor is a 64x64 pixel sensor with a maximum frame rate of 10 frames/s.
A configurable PIR sensor interface delivers a movement/non-movement output when in low light environment.
Application areas:
- Low resolution imaging, e.g. production automation.
- Presence detection for department stores or the like.
- Movement detection for department stores and the like.
- Smart lighting applications.
Top technical features:
- Implemented in standard CMOS process
- 64x64 image sensor
- Ambient light sensor RGB
- openMSP430 CPU with debug interface
- 32k bytes pFlash non-volatile memory
- 20k bytes RAM
- Digital interfaces: Master/Slave SPI
- Supply voltage: 3.3 V
- Supply current: 15 mA (full operational mode)
- Standby current: 20 uA
