Single chip DSRC and UNI for toll road tag applications

Automotive qualified DSRC and UNI compliant tollroad identification and payment device combined with added interface for collection of driver information in trucks

It is a fully integrated system-on-chip (SoC) communication and payment processing device to be used for DSRC and UNI (Italian standard) compliant toll road payment systems. The chip also supports interface for collection of driver specific information used in trucks. The chip is qualified for automotive use as it can be powered directly from the truck (no battery required). The chip includes a 32 bit RISC processor and flash memory to allow for customer specific firmware to control the payment transactions and other information. It also features built in cryptographic cores to support hardware assisted AES encryption. The platform supports ultra-low power listening mode with intelligent false wakeup discriminator to allow for 10+ years of battery operation.

Application areas:

  • Toll road systems motorways, bridges, urban areas, ferries etc.

  • Toll road applications in countries with UNI standard.

  • Parking lot payment systems.

  • Tacometer monitoring in trucks.
